Banff 2008 : This was the fourth trip for the group of 9. We added one more member making it 10 altogether. We first landed at Vancouver, where we toured Whistler and Victoria Island. We flew to Calgary by the first plane on Day 4 and started our journey through the Rocky Mountains.

We travelled from Banff National Park (Lake Louise and Moraine Lake) to Yoho National Park (Emerald Lake), then through the Icefield Parkway (Hector Lake, Peyto Lake, Columbia Icefield) onto Jasper National Park (Malign Lake, Medicine Lake). Towards the end of our journey, we took a side trip to Mount Robson Provincial Park and took the Kinney Lake Hike, before heading to Edmonton, the final stop before flying back to Hong Kong.

We experienced all four seasons during this trip, from hot and sunny to rain and snow. We saw many wild lives along the way, including elk, deer, caribou, sheep, mountain goat, marmot, and even black bears three different times.

In short, we had a wonderful time.

The photos for this trip will be divided into 3 sections: (i) Banff and Yoho, (ii) Icefield Parkway and Jasper, and (iii) Canadian flowers.

Icefield Parkway to Jasper : We were lucky to have a sunny day while travelling through the Icefields Parkway to Jasper. While in Jasper, it was mostly cloudy in the morning but turning sunny in the afternoon, so we visited Malign Canyon and hiked the Valley of Five Lakes in the mornings and then Malign Lake, Medicine Lake, Patricia Lake and Pyramid Lake in the afternoons and evenings.

We also took a day trip to Mount Robson Provincial Park and did the Kinney Lake hike.

New York 2007 : One day in New York -- A visit to Central Park in the morning, we walked from the southern end to the northern, quite a distance but yet very pleasant. Then we made a quick trip to top of the Empire State Building at sunset time. Unfortunately, it took just too long to get through the queue to go from the ground to the top even with the expensive express ticket. We just missed the sunset by the time we were at the top! Well that leaves something for the next visit. A couple of the remaining photos were taken at top of the Rockefeller Centre.

Vermont Fall Foilage : The photos were taken during my first visit over a weekend to Vermont. We spent a total of only 3 days there including driving back and forth from New York. The scale of the fall foliage was much bigger than I had imagined, and the opportunities for photography were endless. Must come back for a longer stay next year...
